✔ 2–3 concepts in one question
✔ Minimal calculation
✔ Maximum logic

🥇 Gold Trick 1: First + Second Law Combo

If both energy flow and direction are asked:
  • Use First Law → magnitude
  • Use Second Law → direction / possibility
IIT Pattern: One option violates entropy — eliminate instantly.

🥇 Gold Trick 2: Impossible Engine Detection

If efficiency:
  • > Carnot → Impossible
  • = Carnot → Ideal reversible
  • < Carnot → Possible
No calculation needed.

🥇 Gold Trick 3: Temperature Scale Trap

Always convert to:
  • Kelvin scale
JEE Trap: °C values directly used → WRONG.

🥇 Gold Trick 4: PV Diagram + Entropy

  • Clockwise → Net entropy of universe ≥ 0
  • Anti-clockwise → Requires external work
Insight: Diagram itself tells feasibility.

🥇 Gold Trick 5: Internal Energy Shortcut

For ideal gas:
  • ΔU depends only on temperature
  • Ignore path completely
Shortcut: Same T → same U

🥇 Gold Trick 6: Sudden Expansion Logic

In free expansion:
  • W = 0
  • Q = 0
  • ΔU = 0
Result: T remains constant (ideal gas)

🥇 Gold Trick 7: Entropy Comparison Method

Instead of calculating ΔS:
  • More disorder → higher entropy
  • Mixing gases → entropy increases

🥇 Gold Trick 8: Multiple Reservoir Question

If heat exchanges with many reservoirs:
  • Check net entropy change
  • If ΔSuniverse < 0 → Impossible

🥇 Gold Trick 9: Area Ratio Trick

In PV graphs:
  • Work ratio = Area ratio
Saves full integration.

🥇 Gold Trick 10: Time-Saver Question Scan

Before solving:
  1. Identify process types
  2. Check reversibility
  3. Apply laws — not equations
